fishing

Fishing for Trout and Salmon on the River Spey is immortalised. Some of the finest sea trout fishing in the world, and unaffected by the problems in other areas of Britain. Add great trout fishing on Lochs Ericht, Laggan and the Spey Dam. The Abernethy Waters is a superb stretch of water consisting of 15 named pools on over 6 miles (10 Km) of double bank fishing on the famous River Spey for salmon, sea trout and brown trout and this stretch is available to all visitors staying in Boat of Garten, Nethybridge, Dulnain Bridge and Carrbridge.

The Fishery at Rothiemurchus Estate caters for all angling requirements. Try Salmon and Sea Trout fishing on the famous River Spey, stocked Rainbow Trout Lochs with novice facilities, or boat fishing for Brown Trout and Pike on tranquil lochs with stunning Cairngorm mountain views. Fly fishing, bait fishing and spinning are all permitted in specific areas and full instruction is available in all. A superb Tackle Shop meets all your angling needs, together with a selection of snacks and hot and cold drinks for your refreshment.

A must visit for all is Cali Rods at Nethybridge. Clan Rods are the last traditional rod builders in Scotland and therefore have a great responsibility in handling older rods that need repair. Some are for collections, some belonged to granddad, some personalities, some the royal family; they all receive workmanship of the highest quality.

Spend the weekend fishing on one of our leisure breaks.

Carrbridge Golf Course

Carrbridge Golf Course

Carrbridge Golf Club was reformed in 1980 but there has been  a Golf Course on this site for over 100 years.

The course has been moulded around the natural contours of the land and as a result offers few man made hazards.
Burns abound and there is water somewhere on every hole.

The course rises to about 1000 feet to present excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains.

Click here for more information on playing golf at Carrbridge Golf Club.
